Sadly, the family announces the sudden passing of Cecil Elliott, 77, of Fort Frances, Ont., on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances. Cecil was born March 22, 1939 in Dobie Township to Chesley and Dorothy Elliott. Cecil worked for Texaco and Esso driving fuel truck for more than 40 years. He was united in marriage to Maxine Anderson on Aug. 31, 1974. He loved spending time at the cabin on Shoal Lake fishing, and was very fond of curling and baseball. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Maxine; children, Victoria (Manuel) Pavao of Vancouver, B.C., Robert Anderson of Airdrie, Alta., and Howard (Leann) Anderson of Airdrie, Alta.; grandchildren, John (Claudia), Brian, Kimberly, Jodie, and Tanner Ward; and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Christopher. Cecil also is survived by his siblings, Josie Dyck, Denise (Dwight) Becker, Darlyne (Stu) Bruce, Norma Galusha, Herb (Marvel) Elliott, Judy Kaemingh, and Oscar Elliott; uncle, Melvin Clark; sisters-in-law, Margaret (Ed) Bogacki, Mavis Wood, and Ruth Wood; brothers-in-law, Melvin Wood and Carl (Bonnie) Wood; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Chesley and Dorothy; special aunt, Reta Clark; brothers, Lawrence (Irene), George, Allan, and Lyle Elliott; brothers-in-law, Richard Wood and Arnold Wood; and sisters-in-law, Arlene (Lloyd) Jowett and Edna (Bill) Ewen. As per Cecil’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be announced at a later date in the spring. Interment will take place in Emo Cemetery in Emo, Ont.
