We as a family are sad to announce the passing of Dorothy W. Mitchell on November 27, 2013 at age 95. Dorothy was born on April 10, 1918 in Carman ,Manitoba. At the age of 5 she along with her parents moved to Fort Frances where her father had a job on the building of the paper mill. She attended Robert Moore and Fort Frances High School. Dorothy was employed at 3 different stores and the mill. She met James Mitchell and they were married August 22, 1942. Dorothy was an active member of the United Church, UCW, Emo Hospital Auxiliary, Order of the Eastern Star. Dorothy enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels. Her hobbies were rug hooking, paper toiling and macramé. Dorothy is survived by her daughter Lois ( Dean ) Olsen of Prince George, BC. Her grandsons Robert (Vivian) of Prince George, BC, Jeff of Richterswil, Switzerland and great-grandchildren Katie , Krisitian, and Steven. Also surviving her is a sister Shirley (Walter) Avis of Fort Frances and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents Fred and Ruth Williams, husband James ( Jim) Mitchell, sister Marion Gow and brother Frank, her sisters -in-law Donna Williams and Laura Mitchell. A celebration of her life will take place in the spring of 2014 a date will be announced. If desired memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
