Dorothy (Eberly) Steiner, of Stratton ON, peacefully passed on, at home, to her eternal reward, on November 14, 2015, at age 88 years, 9 months, 9 days.
She was born February 5, 1927 to Clayton & Carrie Eberly at Dalton, Ohio.
Early in her life she accepted Christ as her personal Saviour and was baptized at the County Line Mennonite Church, Dalton, Ohio. Attendance at church and being active in the LORD’s work were always her priority.
On October 10, 1948 she was united in marriage to Carl Steiner (January 18, 1927 – May 15, 1981).
They enjoyed 32 years, 7 months, and 5 days together.
She was a widow for 34 years, 5 months, and 30 days. God blessed this union with 8 sons and 2 daughters.
Dale (Miriam) of Salmon Arm, BC; Chester (Marilyn) of Hague, SK; James (Anne) of Stratton, ON; Gerald (Martha) of Cambridge Springs, PA; Kenneth (Susan) of Thorpe, WI; Harry (Eleanor) of Barwick, ON; Nancy (Carl Martin) of Stratton, ON; Dennis (Betzy) of Eden, ON; Donna (Timothy Martin) of Stratton, ON; and Dwayne of Fort Frances, ON.
She will be greatly missed by her 10 children, 88 grandchildren, 194 great grandchildren, 5 brothers: Homer (Marian) of Orrville, OH; John (Ruby) of Blountstown, FL; Clarence (Luella) of Kidron, OH; Ray (Carol) of Selinsgrove, PA; and Glenn (Emma) of Kidron, OH; and 2 sisters: Edna of Rittman, OH; and Wilma (Tilman Steiner) of Salem, OH; and 5 in-laws: (Mary Eberly (Lloyd), Lois Eberly (Earl), Esther Steiner (Cleophas); Raymond and Lucille Steiner.
In addition to her husband (Carl) she was preceded in death by 1 grandson (Daniel); 2 great-granddaughters (Angela and Jewel); and 1 great-grandson (Jeffery); 4 brothers; Albert, Wain, Lloyd and Earl; 2 sisters, Mildred Eberly and Ethel (John) Amstutz and 13 in-laws.
In May 1963, Carl, Dorothy, and family moved from Orrville, OH to Barwick, ON where they resided until Carl died. Dorothy then moved to Stratton, ON, by her daughter Nancy, where she resided until her death.
Dorothy was a faithful member in the Woodside Conservative Mennonite Church at Pinewood, ON.


Funeral services are planned for Wednesday, November 18, 2015 10:00 am at the Barwick Hall, with interment at Pineview Cemetery.
