Throughout my growing up years Eila-tati was a major part of my life. As a child I spent many pleasant times picking blueberries and raspberries with her. She and Uncle Johnny were often with Rick and me on camping trips to Hazelwood Lake and after Ryan was born they became his 'spare' grandparents. My thoughts and condolences are with my cousins and their families. Their loss is also my loss.

Eila-täti’s place was my second home when I was a child in Thunder Bay. My going to university in my 20s was prompted by one of her blunt and insightful comments (“Everyone says you’re so smart. Why haven’t you done anything?”) I’ll always remember her wry humour, her cats and her flowers.
Thinking of you, my cousins, and sending love.
