Sadly the family announces the passing of Eileen Zajac, 87, of Fort Frances, ON on Monday, March 23, 2014 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances. Eileen was born on Sept. 8, 1927 in Togo, Saskatchewan to Clara and Earl Enge. She was an avid bowler and bingo player and enjoyed the friendships and good times at both. She loved spending time fishing with her family and friends. Eileen spent most of earlier years cooking in tourist camps and restaurants and was self employed. She enjoyed gardening, caring for her houseplants, knitting and crocheting. She will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her husband, Stanley; her children, Alice (Jim) Booth, Sheila (Alfred) Gate, and Norman Enge; her grandchildren, Shannon (Rod), Michael (Erin), Melissa (Terry), Sherri (Gord), Elizabeth (Dion), LeAnne, Eddy, John, Blaine (Donna), and Greg (Kim); and many great-grandchildren. Eileen is also survived by her sister, Maxine Bell; brothers, Leslie Mason, Charlie (Mary) Mason, and Henry (Mary) Mason; sisters-in-law, Jessie Enge and Eileen Terlisky; brothers-in-law, Jerry (Betty) Zajac, and Roy (Diane) Zajac; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She was also a dear friend to Rita (Colin) Willcott and Tommy Socholotuk. Eileen was predeceased by her parents, Clara and Earl Enge, and step-father, Jack Mason; her grandson, Gregory Cathcart; daughter, Doreen Arnould; her brothers, George (Margaret) Enge, Ray (Shirley) Enge, and Melvin Enge; parents-in-law, John (Doris) Zajac; brothers-in-law, Johnny Bell and John Terlisky; and sister-in-law, Helen Mason. As per Eileen’s wishes, an intimate family service will take place at a later date.
