Helene Maria Tompkins Sadly with her family by her side Helene Tompkins (nee Schock) 87 of Emo Ontario passed away on September 13, 2018 at the Emo Hospital. Helene was born on September 2, 1931in Blue Twp to parents John and Mary Schock. She was united in marriage to Edward Tompkins on Nov 18, 1950. She operated the Solo Store in Emo from 1964 to 1988. She was a valued member of the Emo Knox United Church, volunteering often for social events. Helene was active in the community and promoted recycling where she could to keep the town of Emo clean. She enjoyed attending and helping where she could at the Emo Fair and Emo Stock Car Races. She delivered meals on wheels for years and never missed an Emo Council meeting. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Betty Ann Brown, John Tompkins and Rod Tompkins, her grandchildren Becky, Ashlee, Tyler( Jason), Jennifer, Thrisha (Tim), Kali, Skylar (Sharon), great grandchildren Marlee, Mattie, Daffni, Aili, Turner, Peyton, Dominic, Rowan, Noah. Helene was predeceased by her husband Edward (2003), her children Gary (1982), Cindy Jewett (2002), and granddaughter Amanda Jerry (2000). A time of fellowship and remembrance will be held in Helene memory on Tuesday September 18, 2018 from 12-2 p.m. at the Emo Knox United Church. Interment will take place in Emo Cemetery.
