Inez Milne Obituary

Sadly the family announces the sudden passing of Joy Milne 56 of Atikokan, Ontario on Friday September 22, 2017 with her family by her side at the la Verendrye Hospital Fort Frances, Ontario. Joy was born in Rainy River Ontario on February 20, 1961 to parents Harold and Inez (nee Mansfield) Milne. She was raised on the family farm and had a great love for animals and a wonderful enthusiasm for life. As a young lady she moved to Atikokan where she resided for over 30 years. She accumulated many wonderful friends. Joy was able to charm her way into the hearts of everyone she met and had a way of bringing out the best in people. She had a love for music and she was impossible to get off the dance floor. Joy was the party planner of the family. She made sure that there was always balloons, cake, chips, and pop at her birthday and for every other occasion she could think of. She will be sadly missed by her life companion Michael Weatherbe and her care giver Darlene Cox and Shane. Joy will be lovingly remembered by her step father Ray Gates, her siblings Melvin (Lorraine) Milne, Elsie Gerula, Alice (John) Blixt, Linda (Morgan) Stewart, Susan (Ed) St. Pierre, Connie (Allan) Stewart, MaryAnn (Bill) Olson, and numerous nieces and nephews. Joy was predeceased by her parents Inez and Harold, sisters Cathy and June and her brother Harold Jr. A service of celebration and remembrance will be held in Joy's memory on Tuesday September 26, 2017 from 1-3 p.m. at the Northridge Funeral Home, Emo, Ontario. Interment will take place in Bergland Cemetery at a later date. If desired memorial donations may be made to the Community Living-Atikokan Discretionary Fund.
