Sadly the family announces the passing of Jennie George, 74 of Fort Frances, Ont on Saturday November 29, 2014 at the La Verendrye Hospital. Jennie was born on December 1, 1939 in Fort Frances, Ont to Basil and Anna Salamond. She was a devoted mother and her family was the most important thing in her life. She enjoyed spending time beading, cooking and fishing. Jennie was a valued member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes CWL for over 27years. She will be greatly missed by her children Brian McPherson, Cheryl McPherson (Rick Wright) all of Thunder Bay and Karl George ( Kristen Kaun) of Fort Frances. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Michael, Baeley, Aliyah, Ty, Brittany and great grandson Grayson. She is also survived by her sisters Audrey and Diane, numerous in laws and many nieces and nephews. Jennie was predeceased by her parents Basil and Anna Salamond, her husbands John Robert McPherson (1970) and Herbert George (2011). Funeral mass will take place on Thursday December 4, 2014 at 11 a,m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with Fr. Victor DeGagne as Celebrant. Interment will take place at a later date. Visitation one hour prior to service.
