Stewart Charles Firth Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Stewart Charles Firth announce his passing on April 11, 2018. Stewart was born in Dewsbury Yorkshire England on August 10, 1950 to Albert and Margaret Firth. Though his heritage was half English and half Scottish, he loved his Scottish ancestry the most. Stewart especially enjoyed travelling to Scotland with his family for holidays. Stewart came to Canada in 1976, and in 1980 met his sweetheart for life, Debra Elaine Pearse. Stewart & Debra were married on August 13, 1983. Together they had 6 children: Kaleb (Raylene), Hannah (Daniel), Ethan (Ashley), Simeon (Taylor), Phoebe (TJ), Isaac (Savannah). Stewart and Debbie also have 6 grandchildren that they love so much: Khloe, Klark and Klyde Oster; Aunnika Baron; Ava and Beckhym Firth. Stewart is also survived by his parents Albert and Margaret, siblings Ian (Elizabeth), David (Pat), Malcolm(Diane), sisters Jillian (Martyn Ruddlesdon), Barbara (Stephen Hodgson), Shona (Ian Grace), sister In law Collette Firth, his mother and father in law Jack and Alice Pearse (Sault Ste. Marie), in-laws Sherri and Steven Johnson, and Pam Lawrence and numerous nieces and nephews. Stewart was predeceased brother Brian Firth and brother in law Billy Pearse. Stewart loved to work. Even though he was 67, he didn’t want to retire, and loved going to the Barwick mill to be with his second family. Special thanks to all his co-workers and friends for being so good to Stewart. Stewart has gone to a new address called Heaven. While living in England, Stewart attended a Billy Graham Crusade and went forward to receive Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour. In John 3:3, Jesus declares, “I tell you the truth no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.” When Stewart asked Jesus into his heart and life he was born again. His sins were forgiven and he was saved! He became one of God’s children; a member of God’s family. Stewart was involved in many organizations. In England he was involved with the Collegians and Scouts. In Canada he was very active in the Kinsman Club, AWANA Clubs and the Lions Club. Debra will greatly miss her Scottish sweetheart and writes: “Until we meet again Stewart, I love you and will miss you. God knew you were getting tired and that was the day He decided to take you Home. Because of Jesus, I will see you again someday!” Visitation will be held at the Northridge Funeral Home, Emo, on Wednesday April 18, 2018 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday April 19, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the Emo Christian Reformed Church, with Pastor Mark Mast officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Aush-Bik-Koong Bible Camp for children to attend camp or the Guatemala Outreach for homes to be built for impoverished people in Guatemala c/o Northridge Funeral Home, Box 89, Emo, ON P0W 1E0
