It is with great sadness that the family of Austin Swanson announces his passing on Friday August 16th 2019 at the age of 92. He passed away peacefully at Teck Pioneer Residence with his family at his side. He will be deeply missed by his sons Ed (Judy), Peter and daughter Loriann (Marc); his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and his sister Shirley Stevenson. Austin was predeceased by his wife Norma and their son Ronald, daughter-in-law Pearl and great grandson baby Ronald. . Austin was a very kind loving and sociable man who loved having all his family, friends and neighbours around. He had a special love for horses and worked with them in the bush. He farmed most of his life and worked in the bush as a contractor as well. He worked in Swastika tree nursery for many years and enjoyed his lunch breaks playing cards with his co-workers. Cremation has taken place and there will be a grave side service and gathering at the Englehart Cemetery on Saturday August 24th, 2019 at 11:00 am. Rev. Elaine Lush officiating. Luncheon to follow at the Englehart Legion Br. 104. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Teck Pioneer Residence for their activity fund or a charity of your choice.
