Daniel Garber Provo, Utah Obituary

Daniel Garber

Daniel Allen Garber passed away peacefully at home in Orem, Utah, surrounded by his family on Thursday, 27 July 2017. Dan was born 24 July 1951 in Lynwood, California to Barbara Jean and Melvin Garber. As a child, Dan moved around frequently with his family and at age 16 found himself in Parowan, Utah where he was introduced to and joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A few years later he would serve a mission in the Mexico South mission. A persistent entrepreneur, Dan dreamed big, lived large, and worked hard. He was as comfortable speaking to large audiences as he was using a hammer and framing walls, building business and constructing homes. He loved to be outdoors, from camping and fishing to simply sitting in the grass. Dan spoke with a gentle voice, was quick to lend a hand to those in need, loved his family, and leaves this life deeply loved by many. A big, engaging smile accentuated his tendency to be goofy, make others laugh and bring people together. Dan leaves behind a legacy of hard work and devotion to his family and faith. He is survived by his wife Carole; his children: Jeremy (Marlene), Heather (Mark), Sarah (Paul), Dave (Andrea), Clay (Kelly), Andrew (Alyson), Lisa (Levi), Dan (Cassie), Pete (Britney), and Brigham; and 30 grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Barbara Jean and his siblings Jeanie (Kent), Brenda (Patrick), Tom (Bonnie), Bill (Sherri), and Dave (Alberto). He is also survived by his in-laws Paul and Sharon Alden and siblings Mary (Jim), David (Anne), Rick, Scott (Debbie), and Clare. He is preceded in death by his father Melvin and the best dog in the world, Cache. A special thanks to the excellent care and dedicated efforts of the many doctors and nurses at the Huntsman Cancer Institute these last few months of his life.
