Jean-Claude Thibodeau Obituary

Our Dad, Jean-Claude Thibodeau, a life-long resident of Earlton Ontario, passed away at Englehart & District Hospital, Sunday June 3rd ,2018 after a short illness. Born and raised on a dairy farm, with siblings Thérèse, Armande (deceased), Yolande Charlebois (Robert )Raymond(deceased), and Jeanne d’Arc “Jano”, Jean-Claude took over the family farm from his father Arthur and his mother Beatrice ( Toupin ). After selling the farm due to health issues, Jean-Claude drove school buses, and commercial trucks. Always remaining passionate about the latest and greatest tractors and farm equipment, he continued to drive tractors for his nephews Raymond (deceased) and Basil. He was very proud of Basil and his sons’ accomplishments in the dairy business. Jean-Claude and his wife Doris ( Gingras ) traveled across the country numerous times to visit family and friends and explore the different sites this beautiful country has to offer. From the Maritimes to British Columbia, from Alaska to the Yukon he drive his FORD and RV and stop for many pictures along the highway. He also enjoyed making the trip to Medicine Hat to visit his good friend David and Marg. At future family gatherings and lunches at Dida’s he will be missed by his children, Anne Thibodeau ( André Robert ), Luc Thibodeau, Denis Thibodeau ( Jtiske Boom ), Lyne Thibodeau, Sylvie Thibodeau, Josée ( Ian ) Auger and Shawn (Stacy ) Savarie. His greatest joy was his grand-children. Chelsie McKnight ( Jim Thanos ), Cole McKnight ( Stephanie Locke ), Alaya Robert, Joslyn Thibodeau ( Isabelle Lemire ), Alexandre Thibodeau, Maxim Clairoux, Joséane Clairoux, Carissa Shackleton ( Thomas ), Samantha Auger ( Dillon Demarell ), Janet, Mackenzie, Quinn and Khenan Savarie. Many of them develop a taste of honey, maple syrup, and B.C.’s smoked salmon early in thanks to grand-papa. Dad’s early departure robbed him of the chance to meet his great-grand-children and future great-grand-children expected to arrive this year. Cremation has taken place at Lakeview Crematorium. A private memorial mass will be held at a later date from St-Jean Baptiste Church in Earlton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Englehart and District Hospital Palliative Care Program will be greatly appreciated. Condolences, contributions and memorial candles may be left at www.buffamleveille.com.
