Simoni, Sonya Ann – With heavy hearts the family announces the death of Sonya Ann Simoni at the age of 47 years. Sonya passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family, Saturday, June 8, 2019 following a courageous battle with breast cancer. Sonya was an incredibly caring, compassionate and beautiful woman who selflessly dedicated her life to raising her five children. She always gave 100% to her family and asked for nothing in return. Sonya enjoyed the little things in life: the sun, the water, music and laughter, without forgetting the Boston Bruins. She was a very proud woman and always looked her best including, as her daughter described, “her iconic hair”. Sonya's strength, courage and positive outlook on life has been an inspiration to all whose lives she touched. Predeceased by her beloved son Nicholas Rivard. Sadly missed by her children: Jacob Rivard [Myriam Legault], Katherine Rivard [Marco Cloutier], Philippe Rivard [Izabelle Rivard], Samuel Rivard, her grandchildren: Sophie and Vinnie Rivard and their mother Shayla Noel. Also left to mourn are her parents: Bruno and Geraldine Simoni and her brothers: Ugo [Tami] Simoni and Steve [Hope] Simoni. The Simoni family will welcome friends and family at Riverside Place, 55 Riverside Drive, New Liskeard, Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A celebration of life will begin at 8:00 pm from Riverside Place with Father Wayne Mills officiating.
