Bruce Harkness Obituary

Bruce Harkness ~ of Belmore, passed away at Braemar Retirement Centre, Wingham on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 in his 92nd year. Bruce was the husband of Ellen Harkness of Belmore, and father of Ron and Carolyn Harkness of R.R. 1, Clifford, Linda Walker of Belmore, and Leland and Jane Harkness of R.R.1, Clifford. Grandfather of Heather Harkness of Hanover, Sonya Niziolek of Hanover, Brad and Erin Harkness of R.R. 1, Clifford, Brian Walker and Kelly Haggins of Cambridge, David Walker and Kristy Penteluik, all of Silvan Lake, Alberta, Adam Harkness and Lyndy Reid of R.R. 3, Palmerston, Sarah Harkness of Belmore, and Amy and Justin Weber of Owen Sound. Great-grandfather of Maria Harkness and Jamie Dixon, Deacon Niziolek, Kaitlyn Niziolek and Gracie Harkness, and great-great-grandfather of Chloe. Bruce is remembered by Ellen’s family, Laura and Randy Mason of London, Richard and Heather Inglis of Formosa, and Doug and Sandra Inglis, Peter and Wanda Inglis, and Paul and Donna Inglis, all of Belmore, and by their families. He was predeceased his first wife Ida Jacques in 1978, four children in infancy, his parents Leslie and Cassie (Harper) Harkness, and by his brother Robert Harkness. Friends may call at McIntosh United Church on Saturday, August 15th for visitation from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 p.m. A Masonic Lodge memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service. Interment in McIntosh Cemetery. Memorial donations to McIntosh Cemetery, Braemar Retirement Centre or Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated and may be made through the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston.
