Eva Rose (Woodiwiss) Moran ~ of Guelph and formerly of Mount Forest, passed away at The Elliott Community, Guelph on Thursday, September 15, 2016 in her 84th year. Eva was predeceased by her loving husband Ralph in 1998. Survived by her sons Dave Moran and his wife Helen Craigie of Mount Forest, favourite son Eric Moran and his wife Julie Burrows of Toronto, and Bryan Moran and his wife Pat Rockman of Toronto. Grandma of Alison Moran, Siobhan and Ben Blanchard, Colin and Becca Moran, Erika Moran and Sam Carter, Garrett Moran and Rocio Gainza, Wakelin and Emily Fulford, Blair Moran, and Casey Fulford; and great-grandma of Hunter, Oliver, and Norah. Eva was predeceased by her siblings.Harold and Lucille Woodiwiss, Hazel and Ralph Smith, Shirley and Mel Geauvreau, Alton and Bernice Woodiwiss, Phillip and Clara Woodiwiss, Ella Meloche, and Bill and Barb Woodiwiss; and by Ross, Irene, and Margaret in infancy. She will be remembered by her nieces and nephews. Eva was born in Colchester Township, Essex County, on May 11, 1933. She graduated from high school at the age of 15 and began her bookkeeping career with Heinz in Leamington. She married Ralph in 1954, moved to Sarnia and continued her career at Dow Chemical. The family moved to Mount Forest in 1964 when Ralph purchased Wigle Pharmacy, later known at Moran’s IDA and Big V. Eva was a talented seamstress who created many outfits and costumes for family members, as well as beautiful quilts. She enjoyed curling, golfing, bridge, traveling and baking delicious cherry pies for bonspiels. Eva was known for her sense of humour and quick wit. The funeral service will be held from Harriston United Church on Monday, September 19th at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jessica Cottrell officiating. The family looks forward to visiting with you at the luncheon following the service. Interment in Mount Forest Cemetery. Memorial donations to Parkinson Society of Southwestern Ontario or Louise Marshall Hospital, Mount Forest would be greatly appreciated and may be made through the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston.
