Holger Espensen of Fordwich, passed away at Fordwich Village Nursing Home on Thursday, January 28, 2016 in his 92nd year. Holger was the husband of Kirstine Espensen, and father of Lis and Doug Hargrave of Fordwich, Linda and Steve Legault of Angus, Steven and Heather Espensen of Fordwich, and Jeffrey and Jacqueline Espensen of Listowel. Remembered by his grandchildren Tracy and Jason Douglas of Fordwich, Michael Hargrave and Lori McMillan of Mitchell, Ryan Yeoman and Tina Comber of Moonstone, Tyson Yeoman and Miranda Rhynold of Alcona, Dustin Legault of Angus, Cole Espensen of Fordwich, Ethan Espensen of Fordwich, Brett Espensen of Hamilton, and Kelsey Espensen of Toronto; and by his great-grandchildren Shelby Douglas, Emma Douglas, Kayla Hargrave, Logan Hargrave, Bailey Yeoman, and Abby Yeoman. Brother of Elly Sorensen of Denmark. He was predeceased by his infant son in 1960, and by his brothers and sister Jorgen Espensen, Henrik Espensen, Fredrik Espensen, Anna Marie Espensen, and Hans Christian Espensen. A memorial service will be held at the Fordwich United Church on Saturday, February 6 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Hawkins officiating. Interment in Fordwich Cemetery. Memorial donations to Fordwich United Church or Fordwich Village Nursing Home Resident’s Council would be appreciated, and may be made through the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston.
