Velma Whetham ~ of Harriston, at Palmerston and District Hospital on Sunday, November 13, 2016, Mrs. Velma Mabel Margaret (Dowling) Whetham, in her 96th year. Wife of the late Leonard Whetham, and mother of Rilla and Ross McRobb of Mount Forest, and Harlen Whetham of Kitchener and his friend Sharon Lett. Remembered by her grandchildren, Danny and Annilene McRobb of Harriston, Doug and Sherry McRobb of Drew, Kevin and Amber McRobb of Holstein, Jeff and Nancy Mayburry of Victoria, BC, Greg Mayburry of Victoria, BC, Scott and Kristy Whetham of Calgary, and Mark Whetham of Hamilton, and by her great-grandchildren Rachael McRobb, Rebecca McRobb, Emma McRobb, Jenna and Tyler O’Gorman, Jayde McRobb, Chaise McRobb, Brooke McRobb, Jenna Mayburry, Jake Mayburry, Alexis Rose Whetham, and Mason Whetham, and by her great-great grandson Henry O’Gorman. Sister-in-law of Audrey Dowling of Kenilworth, and Geraldine Quickfall of Kitchener. Predeceased by her daughter Linda Mayburry, son-in-law Don Mayburry, daughter-in-law Diane Whetham, sister Norma Roadnight, brothers Martin, Whitmore, Elsmere and Garnett Dowling, and by her brother-in-law Fred Roadnight. Friends may call at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Harriston United Church on Thursday, November 17th at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Harriston Cemetery. Memorial donations to Canadian Diabetes Association, Canadian Cancer Society, or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
