Verne Wright Obituary

Verne Wright of Minto Township ~ passed away at Palmerston & District Hospital on Thursday, December 31, 2009 in his 68th year. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Brenda (Zimmer) Wright, and his children Jason Wright and his wife Heather of Holstein, and Laurie-Kaye Farrell and her husband Bill of Beaverton. Proud grandpa of Mandy, Danielle, and Emma Farrell, and John Norman Wright. Verne was the brother of Norma Iza and her husband Gerald, and Alvin Wright and his wife Shirley, all of Palmerston. He was predeceased by his sister Alma Leyland. In 1972, Verne and Brenda were married and bought their farm in Minto Township. Verne spent many hours working on his many Cockshutt/CO-OP tractors. Anyone who saw Verne always saw a dog by his side, usually his Cocker Spaniel. While he worked for more than 30 years for C.N.R., he also enjoyed farming, his horses, and cow-calf operation. Most of all, Verne loved his four wonderful grandchildren, and having them for the holidays. Friends may call at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston on Monday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Knox-Calvin Presbyterian Church, Harriston on Tuesday, January 5 at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Harriston Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Kidney Foundation, Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Dearest Verne, Your presence we will miss, your memory we will treasure. Loving you always, forgetting you never. Until we meet again, Brenda, Laurie, and Jason
