William Clark Iroqouis Falls, Ontario Obituary

William Clark

Suddenly, on July 3, 2020, William Joseph (Bill) Clark of Matheson, Ontario passed away at the age of 55 years. Bill was born to Ross and Connie (nee Miles) Clark of Shillington on February 13, 1965 in South Porcupine. He was raised on the family farm attending Monteith/Shillington public schools, and graduated at Iroquois Falls Secondary School in 1984. His days on the family farm provided much of his education and he was known to be a jack-of-all-trades, and a master of many. Following graduation, Bill immediately went to work in the bush as an understudy to George Siltala, who would ultimately be a very close and personal friend. Future jobs would see him employed by Ford Wilson, Michaud & Sons, and Bob Lindsay, before giving up trucking and moving to Brigus/Primero/McEwen at the Black Fox Mine east of Matheson, first as an operator and advancing to position of shifter. Bill’s favourite pastimes primarily involved farm and bush activities. He loved to drive the roads with the music cranked, looking for wildlife or checking out how the crops in the area were doing. Bill always loved a good time and had great fun dancing up a storm. Travelling and sharing road trips with his wife, Barb, as well as enjoying the freedom of the ride on his 1700 Roadstar with family was his most recent and treasured passion. Bill is lovingly missed and survived by: his one true love Barb (nee McKee) Clark of Matheson; his mother Connie Clark of Shillington; his sister Linda (Les) Acton of Cold Lake, Alberta; his niece Amanda (TJ) Boates of Cold Lake, Alberta; parents-in-law Ranald & Vivian McKee of Timmins; sister-in-law Donna (Joey) Pearson of Timmins; brother-in-law Wayne McKee; nieces Brittney, Jenna, Lauren. Bill was predeceased by: his loved and cherished step-daughter Jess Fortier (2020); his father Ross Clark (2008); his nephew Kyle Acton (2008). A quiet ceremony and internment at Shillington Cemetery will be held at a later date. Special thanks to the Matheson Fire Department, responding members of the OPP, friends and neighbours who responded so quickly in action and words, and Abitibi Funeral Services for the arrangements. Donations in memory of Bill may be made to CMHA Cochrane-Timiskaming Branch – Community Support Programs or charity of one’s choice
