In Loving Memory of Mr. James Gaughan 1937-2017. It is with sadness that the family announces his death on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the South Centennial Manor at the age of 79 years. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Ethel Gaughan, by his sister Rita Gaffney and his brother Gerald Gaughan. Dear brother-in-law of Cy Gaffney of Pembroke. He will be missed by his nieces, nephews, family, friends, neighbours and colleagues at Iroquois Falls Secondary School where he was a teacher. After retirement, James taught in China for 5 years before returning to Iroquois Falls. The family wish to thank the doctors, nurses and aids at the Timmins and District Hospital, Anson General Hospital and the South Centennial Manor including Dr. Wu and the Palliative caregivers for their kindness, friendship and compassion. Family and Friends may call at Abitibi Funeral Services on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be conducted on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at St-Anne's Church at 2;00 p.m. with the Reverend Father Léo Rancourt presiding. Memorial donations to the Parkinson's Society of Canada or the charity of your choice (cheques only please) would be appreciated by the family.
