Lenora Marie Goodfellow Iroqouis Falls, Ontario Obituary

Lenora Marie Goodfellow

In Loving Memory of Lenora Marie Goodfellow (Wilson) October 20, 1929 - August 16, 2018. It is with great sadness the family announces her passing on August 16, 2018 at Anson General Hospital in Iroquois Falls. Marie is survived by her daughter Gail (David) McQueen of Barrie, grandchildren, Sean (Valerie) McQueen of Peterborough, Sheila McQueen (Tyler Battle) of Victoria B.C., Brendan (Laura) McQueen of Cobourg and great grandchildren Audra, Cadence, Emett and Eleanor. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Stan, her parents Madeline (nee Brick) and Lawrence Wilson, a brother Kenneth and sister Eileen. Early in her adult life, Marie was challenged by a number of health issues which she bravely dealt with privately. To say she was independent was an understatement, and as she grew older that characteristic became even more evident. Despite being legally blind for at least the last 10 years, with the help of friends and family she managed to successfully stay in her own home. The only hint of her disability was the pink cane she used when outside the house. A proud woman, an amazing lady, we will miss her. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has already taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations in memoriam may be made to Iroquois Falls Access Transit, The CNIB (Canadian National Institute for the Blind) or the Canadian Cancer Society and would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Abitibi Funeral Services (705-258-4077).
