Funk, Leslie Marie 13 June 1962 – 03 April 2017 It is with heavy hearts the family announces that on Monday April 3rd at the age of 54, Leslie passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends (Marie) after a courageous battle with cancer. She will be forever missed by her children, Gina (Steven), Bradley and Trevor Saile. She was an amazing Nana to her Granddaughter Lily and will be missed by her dog Lily. She is also survived by her loving parents Dan and Millie Funk, siblings Bryan (Janice) and Tracy (Norm). She will also be deeply missed by her nieces, nephews and her oldest (Eileen) and dearest friends. Leslie’s character can be described in many words. She was strong, selfless, spiritual and a lover of nature and animals. Born in France and raised all of over the country until her family settled in Ramore, ON where she started her own family and made many memorable friendships. She was adventurous, moving from Ontario to Nevada then to Alberta where she lived for 14 years. Leslie was a woman of many talents. She worked as a ranch hand, surveyor, draftsman (AUTO CAD), construction and a dump truck driver just to name a few. In her spare time, she loved to paint with friends, garden and she enjoyed bowling with the kids. Leslie had a passion for animals but there was no denying the love she had for her children. She touched the lives and hearts of so many people and will be greatly missed. There will be a private service held for her family and friends back in her home town of Matheson, ON.
