Mary Alexandria Mona Moores Obituary

During her sleep on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, Mona was Promoted To Glory from Norview Lodge, Simcoe in her 95th year. Mona (nee Thomson) was predeceased by her husband Major William Moores in 2017 and her first husband Clifford Henry Smith in 1984. Mona was the beloved mother of Brenda and Martyn Cooper of Jarvis, Ronald and Sharon Smith of Mississauga, the late Kenneth (the late Susan) Smith and Colonels Deborah and Lee Graves of Toronto. Loving grandmother and great grandmother of Ian and Lisa Cooper (Rebecca (Nolan), Sarah, Michael (fiancee Alex Parker), and David), Martyn and Karen Cooper (Katie, Eileen, Elizabeth, Tara and Patrick), Mona and Rob Ouwendyk (Justin, Courtney, Noah and Evan), Shannon and Jeff Ryerse (William, Ashleigh and Jenna), Ron and Lisa Smith (Josh and Noah), Tammi and Derek Ritson (Holly and Jesse), Robert and Alma MacArthur (Liam, Connor and Derek), Richard Smith, Andrew and Jennifer Graves (Micah, Claire and Henry), Shelley and Matthew Willdig (Joshua), Kerrie and Christopher Belyea (Josie, Seth, Nathaniel, Zachariah and Isaiah) and Logan Graves. Mona will be missed by her daughter-in-law Wendy MacArthur-Cutriss and her unofficially adopted daughter Cheryl Carter and husband Ken and their daughter Melissa. Friends are invited to call at COOPER FUNERAL HOME, 19 Talbot Street West, Jarvis, on Sunday, August 26, 2018 from 3-6 p.m. Funeral Service for Mona will be held at The Salvation Army Simcoe Community Church, 184 Colborne Street North, Simcoe on Monday at 11:00 a.m. (Visitation from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m.). The interment will take place at Mount Zion Cemetery, Copetown. Donations to The Salvation Army 'Gifts of Hope' or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to thank the staff of Orchard Grove at Norview Lodge for the wonderful, loving care that you showed to our mother and grandmother. We truly believe that everyone, from the nursing and PSW care team to the support staff, went above and beyond and your concern for Mona's well-being was noticed. All of you have a special place in our hearts.
