CAMPBELL, Emma Elizabeth (nee Acheson) Reg.N. Peacefully, at her daughter's home in Mississauga, surrounded by loved ones, on Thursday, July 28, 2011, at the age of 89 years. Beloved wife of the late Donald Campbell who predeceased her in February, 2010. Loved and adored mother of Peter (Anna), Boyd (Anilee), Jane, Anne (Peter) and Ross (Christine). Dear grandmother of Sarah, Aidan, Amy, Nancy, Reid, Evan, Hilary, Harrison, Hayley, Livia, Thea, Matthew and Nathan. Born on October 29, 1921 in Perth, Ontario, Emma was the daughter of the late James and Jenny Acheson, and dearest only sister of the late Annie Fournier. She graduated as a registered nurse in 1943 from the Brockville General Hospital and loved her chosen profession, especially the many years she spent as an operating room nurse. Mom was a woman of great strength, and she will be remembered for her selfless devotion to her family and those in need. Her caring and generosity touched the lives of many. Mom was a strong presence in our lives and she will be so greatly missed. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Bruce Strader, Renfrew, and the amazing team of caregivers at the Mississauga/Halton Community Care Access Centre, with very special thanks to Agnes and Val for their care and compassion. Family and friends will be received at McPhail & Perkins Funeral Home, 85 Munro Ave. E.(at Lorne St.), Renfrew on Monday, August 1, 2011 from 7-9pm. A memorial service will follow in the chapel on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 11am. Donations to the Renfrew Victoria Hospital would be greatly appreciated by the family.
