Joseph James McLeod

McLEOD, Joseph James Joe passed away peacefully at Hospice Renfrew on Saturday, August 3, 2019, in his 98th year. Predeceased by his parents Norman and Emma (Pender) McLeod, six sisters, four brothers, and his beloved wife of 60 years, Averil (Hendry). Joe is survived by his sons Bill (Hughette Jobin), Bruce (Grace) and his daughter Brenda (Roy Vasey); grandchildren Alison Vasey, Dawn Vasey (Ben Stowell), Mark Vasey, Erik McLeod, Sharon Feick (Mark); and great-grandchildren Cassidy McLeod, Josh Feick and Sebastian Feick. He will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews and dear friends. Joe will be remembered for his never-ending smile, his positive attitude and kind nature. He always had a story to share and experiences to remember. Joe enjoyed nature and spent much of his life outdoors. For many years he fed numerous birds and enjoyed building feeders and birdhouses. Visiting at McPhail & Perkins Funeral Home, 85 Munroe Ave. E., Renfrew on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 7 – 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Trinity-St. Andrew’s United Church, Renfrew on Saturday at 1 p.m. Cremation to follow.
