It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of their mother, Loretta O’Brien on September 5, 2020. She was the treasured partner and soul mate of Clifford for 70 years before his death on April 21, 2011. Clifford was waiting for her with open arms to welcome her home.
She was the loving mother of John, Marie (Vernon) Swant, Fr. Ken, Matt (the late Marlene), and Gerard (Colleen). Cherished grandmother of Julie (Peter) Connelly, Cliff O’Brien, Marilyn Verloop, Lisa (John) Torkos and Mike O’Brien. Special great-grandmother to Ryan and Justine Verloop as well as twins Keira and Caylin O’Brien.
A wonderful baker and gardener, Loretta was born in Esmonde on February 29, 1924 the youngest daughter of Ellen Valiquette and John R. O’Brien. She was predeceased by all of her siblings; Earl, Emmett, Carmel Valiquette, Basil, Leonard, Helen Eaton and Willard. She was also predeceased by all of her in-laws.
Friends may call at Zohr Family Funeral Home, Eganville (Covid precautions are in effect) from 2-4 and 7-9pm on Thursday. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. James the Less Catholic Church, Eganville and Live Streamed via the Zohr Family Funeral Home Facebook Page at 11am on Friday September 11, 2020. A private family interment will follow.
