With family by his side, Anthony (Tony) Gerard Schneyderberg, of Kincardine, passed away peacefully with grace and dignity on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 under the kind and capable care of Kincardine Hospital’s Palliative Care unit. He was 95 years old. Beloved Husband to Sophie (nee Hoogland). Loving father of Tony (Diane) Schneyderberg of Orangeville, Maria (Ron) Kerslake of Medicine Hat, Christopher (Brenda) Schneyderberg of Toronto, Angela Rostad of Medicine Hat and Cynthia (Dave) Bruggeman of Kincardine. Cherished Grandfather of Steve (Karen) Schneyderberg, Jeff ( Michaela) Schneyderberg, Pamela (Scott) Balkwill, Jessica (Andrew) Dahmer, Jay (Casey) Kerslake, Amy (Willy) Hollett, Andy (Jen) Kerslake, Charity Schneyderberg, Danny Schneyderberg, Jeremy (Chasidy) Schneyderberg, Shawn Schneyderberg, Taralee Rostad, Jesse Rostad, Jacquie Bruggeman and Cameron (Iryna) Bruggeman. Treasured Great Grandfather of Connor (Tori), Jeremy, Garrett, Myles, Matthew, Tyler, Tayah, Jordyn, Jacob, Jasmine, Wyatt, Everett, Seeger, Mason, Jonah, Emily, Julie, Gracie and Mckenna. Predeceased by his parents Christiaan and Anna (nee vanKastel) Schneyderberg and son-in-law Steve Rostad. Born on January 5, 1922 in Princenhagen, Holland, Tony immigrated with his wife and three children to Stratford Ontario in 1953 where he worked as a construction superintendent for Pounder Brothers. Upon retirement, Tony and Sophie toured “this great country” from coast to coast. In 1997 Tony and Sophie moved to Kincardine where they enjoyed daily walks by the lake well into their 90’s. Tony’s humble appreciation of his long, happy and productive life with his wife Sophie will be fondly cherished by family and friends. God bless you husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa and friend. We love you. You will live on in our hearts and memories. Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine on Friday, September 15th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, Kincardine on Saturday, September 16th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., with Father Joshy as celebrant. Interment to follow at the Kincardine Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
