Brooks, Dorothy Viola (née Owens), residing at Pinecrest Manor, Lucknow and formerly of Ripley, passed away at Wingham & District Hospital, on Saturday, September 7, 2013, in her 94th year. Beloved wife of Russell Brooks. Dear mother of Ernest and his wife Eileen of Victoria, B.C., Doug and his wife Ruth Ann of Guelph and Gerry and his wife Linda of Kincardine. Cherished grandma of David Brooks, Gillian Brooks (Kevin Hewitt), Kathy (Matt) Cottrill and Joe Brooks, and loved "G.G." of Elle and Kohen Cottrill and Kaleb and Sophia Brooks. Loved sister of Edward (Georgia-Lee) Owens of Kincardine and Marion Avery of Kincardine. Predeceased by her brother Donald Owens. Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, on Wednesday, September 11, from 11:00 a.m., until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Jeanette Fleischer officiating. Interment, Kincardine Cemetery.
