Dorothy Hartley

Dorothy Marguerite Hartley (née Magwood), of Kincardine, after a determined year-long battle with cancer, at South Bruce Grey Health Centre-Kincardine, on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 in her 90th year. Loved mother of D.Ann (Jim) McClure and Jim (Deb) Hartley. Loving grandmother of John and Peter Hartley. Predeceased by her beloved husband Bert, her cherished grandson Jamie McClure and her brother Burdett Magwood. Good friend of Albrecht Ebener. Aunt, great aunt and great-great aunt to many in Canada and England. Dorothy was able to remain in her own home until ten days before her death, thanks to the generosity and support of her special friends Elaine and Glen Holmes, Susan Zettler and Nancy Connell, palliative care volunteers, her Home Care/Paramed team and her many friends in the Forbes-Lambton apartments and in the United Church. Special thanks to the caring medical staff at the hospital for easing her way. In keeping with Dorothy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home on Saturday, January 3rd at 2:00 p.m. with visitation 1 hour prior to the service, with Rev. Don Harry officiating. Spring interment Kincardine Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Kincardine United Church, Kincardine Hospital Foundation or charity of your choice as expressions of sympathy.
