Florence Nicholson

Florence Mary Nicholson (née Hartwick) of Kincardine, passed away with family by her side, at South Bruce Grey Health Services, Kincardine, on Tuesday, July 25th, 2017, in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Mac Nicholson who predeceased her in 2007. Dear mother of Marion Emmerton (Don) of Kincardine, John Nicholson of Fort St. John, B.C., Dianne Bath of Kincardine, Brenda Wheeler (Guy) and Sandra Liddle (Steve) all of Waterloo. Missed by her grandchildren, Bruce, Heather, Darren, Deanna, Angela (Brandon), Robbie (Dolly), Florence (Matt), Robyn (Bryann), Ryan, Rachael and Alex (Sandra), eleven great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by her brother Ken Hartwick of Cornwall, in-laws Helen Stanley (Ray) of Hanover, Marjorie Nicholson of Bervie and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Jack and Martha (née Leithead) Hartwick, brother Jim Hartwick (Betty) and in-laws, Rollande Hartwick, Norman Nicholson, Marjorie Thompson (Howard), Bert Nicholson (Eva), Clayton Nicholson (Doris), Kay Thacker (Ronald) and Ron Harkness. Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where the funeral service to celebrate Florence’s life will be held on Friday at 1:30 p.m., with Betty Elliott officiating. Interment Kincardine Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Kincardine Hospital Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. “If you’ve been lucky enough to have had a mother and grandma like ours, then you’ve been lucky enough.”
