James Faubert Obituary

FAUBERT, JAMES ALBERT - Dad and Jimbo passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 9, 2010, embraced by his wife, daughter, son in-law and sister in-law. He fought long and hard with tenacity and dignity. He has found peace and is free of pain. Everyone who knew Jim will remember his quiet intelligence, his sense of humour and his love and care of his wife, daughter, son in-law and granddogs. He was a deeply devoted husband and proud father. He loved his second home in Florida at the Holiday Travel Resort. He will be missed by many in Florida as well as in Welland where he spent the majority of his life before moving to Kincardine three years ago. For so many years, Jim suffered chronic back pain but was still able to enjoy carving, his UCAR breakfast club, reading history and working on his computer. Jim served his country in the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers division of the military in his youth. Jim is survived by his wife, Mary Elcich, his daughter, Jacqueline Faubert and his son in-law, Colin Elwood. He is also survived by his mother, Ruth Jones (Mills), stepfather, Tom Jones and stepbrother, Randy Jones (Tammy). He is predeceased by his father, Eugene Faubert. Jim will be fondly remembered by his sister in-laws Anne Patrino (Bill), Vi Vrbanac (Marijan), Darlene Mancini (predeceased by Tony) as well as brothers-in-law, John Elcich, Steve Elcich (Janice), Michael Elcich (Marilyn), George Elcich (Debbie) and his many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the angel by his bedside, Darlene Mancini, for being there for Mary, Jacqueline and Colin in the last two weeks. Also a deep felt appreciation and thanks to Dr. Wiebe. In the final days of Jim’s life Dr Wiebe visited and among Jim’s last words spoken was the acknowledgement to Dr. Wiebe that he “was one good man”. The care and compassion Dad received from the CCAC (Community Care Access Centre) team was stellar. Catherine, Cathy, and Diane, you touched our lives. Sandy M., you were dad’s favourite nurse at the hospital. Also, a special mention of the care towards Dad by Ron and Marla at the pharmacy. Your expertise and compassion are first-rate and a testament to community. Friends and family can join us in celebrating dad’s life and his new found peace at the WALKER HOUSE, Kincardine on Sunday November 21, from 12-2 pm. On Saturday December 11, 2010, friends and family in Welland are invited to celebrate dad's life at the All Saints Anglican Church (Dain City) from 2-4 pm. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Walker House, Kincardine, or a charity of your choice, would be deeply appreciated by the family. Interment at Kincardine Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, 757 Princes Street, Kincardine, ON N2Z 1Z5 519-396-2701.
