Judith "Judy" Knickerbocker

Knickerbocker, Judith “Judy” Mary Patricia (née Nichols), of Kincardine and formerly of London, passed away suddenly at London Health Sciences Centre-University Hospital, on Friday, January 16, 2015 in her 74th year. Beloved mother of Scott Marshall of Kincardine and Samantha Marshall (Nelson Montanino) of Miami Beach, Florida. Cherished grandma of Aaron and Daniel Marshall. Adored sister of Tim Nichols of Malaga, Spain. Widow of the late Earl Knickerbocker. Judy moved to Kincardine 8 years ago to be close to her son, Scott, and became an integral part of the community through her work in the theater guild, and as a volunteer tai chi instructor. An avid animal lover, she also spent time fostering kittens and socializing cats at the Humane Society of London, where she lived for decades after emigrating from England in 1963. Her early childhood was spent in Hyderabad, India, where her father worked on the railways before Independence. Friends and family remember as someone who radiated joy and kindness. To be with her was to be in a "happy place," and her light and beauty will be sorely missed. Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, 757 Princes Street, Kincardine, ON, N2Z 1Z5, 519-396-2701, on Wednesday, January 21, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 22, at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Don Harry officiating. Interment, Kincardine Cemetery. Memorial donation to the Humane Society, the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Kincardine Food Bank would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
