Orland Leslie Leggett, of Tiverton, after a brief but courageous battle against cancer, at South Bruce Grey Health Centre-Kincardine, on Wednesday, May 13, 2009, in his 68th year. Beloved husband of Lillian Leggett (née Todd). Dear father of Leslie (Ken) Ferguson of Bowmanville and Vicky (Michael) Quipp of Tiverton. Sadly missed by his grandchildren, Jordan and Brittany Quipp and Drew and Logan Ferguson. Loved brother of Ron (Helen) Leggett of London and LeRoy (Marsha) Leggett of Kincardine Township. Cherished son-in-law of Clara Todd of Tiverton. Predeceased by his parents Stewart and Mary (Cottrill) Leggett, brother Ralph Leggett, father-in-law Murray Todd and sister-in-law Susan Bell. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Orland was a volunteer firefighter with the Tiverton and District Fire Department for more than 25 years, 19 of which, serving as chief. He was passionate about many things and loved time spent in his workshop at the trailer, hunting and fishing. Orland has been a familiar face at hockey arenas, both close to home and far away, as he followed his grandchildren’s teams. Together, Orland and Lillian have travelled from coast to coast of his beloved Canada, trailer in tow. Visitation at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, 757 Princes Street, Kincardine, ON N2Z 1Z5, 519-396-2701, on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, May 16, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Susan Samuel and Rev. Ruth MacLean officiating. Interment, Tiverton Cemetery.
