Philip McDonald Kincardine, Ontario Obituary

Philip McDonald

Philip Alan McDonald, age 49, of Kincardine, passed away suddenly at his home, on June 30, 2013. He is survived by his mother, Marion McDonald of Kincardine, and by his older siblings, Anna (Jake) Smith of Bruce Township, Laura (Garry) Farrell of Port Hope, Mark McDonald of Port Elgin, Peter (Sharon) McDonald of Kincardine, and Jill (Stuart) DeCoste of Newcastle. Philip is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews, and by 10 great-nieces and great-nephews. Philip is predeceased by his father, Donald Gordon McDonald. Philip had many adventures. Raised on a farm, he drove tractors, snowmobiles, and mini-bikes, and his Silver Anniversary Corvette. He dearly loved Nascar races and Car #6, Mark Martin. In his school days, his wrestling prowess won him the gold medal. Philip rarely missed watching his teams, the Blue Jays and Maple Leafs. Philip took pride in his work as a George Brown College educated and licensed meat cutter. His competitive nature won him awards for “Best Meat Counter”. Phil catered numerous wedding, work function, sporting events, and Paisley Beef Fest. His charming way with people, made him a popular automobile salesman. Philip was an honest, good-hearted, determined fellow with a great sense of humour, who helped friends and strangers without hesitation. He enjoyed sharing a laugh with everyone. We are going to miss him walking through our doorway. Home won’t be the same without him. We love you Philip. Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine on Thursday, July 4, from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, July 5 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Rob McFadden officiating. Memorial donations to the Tiverton Baptist Church or the Lake Huron Fishing Club would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
