Brian Patrick Heffernan

Heffernan, Brian Patrick February 23, 1957 - June 24, 2020 It is with very sad hearts that we announce the passing of Brian Patrick Heffernan after a brief illness at the age of 63 on June 24, 2020. Loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and dear friend. Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Veronica Heffernan (LeSarge) Brian will be forever missed by his cherished wife and best friend of 36 wonderful years Maureen Heffernan (McKee). Loving father to Shannon Young (Ryan), Katie Heffernan and very proud Grandpa to his sweet Addison (Addy). Brian is survived by his loving siblings, Catherine Campbell (Ron), David Heffernan (Eileen), Chris Heffernan, Greg Heffernan and Cindy Schuster (Rudy) and many loving nieces and nephews. Brian was a true family man, he loved and would do anything for his family. His greatest joy was being with them whenever he could, especially during the short time he had as a caring and loving Grandpa. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him loved his wonderful outgoing personality. Brian had a long career with Correctional Service Canada as a Registered Nurse in the Regional Treatment Centre at Kingston Penitentiary. After he retired, he worked part-time at the Kingston Penitentiary Tours—a job he said he would have happily done for free. Brian was a big sports fan and everyone knew he was especially devoted to his hockey team the Chicago Blackhawks. Maureen and the girls will miss him dearly. Aquamation has taken place and due to current restrictions, a private Celebration of Life will be held at the Wartman Funeral Home - Kingston Chapel. Memorial donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Online condolences at www.wartmanfuneralhomes.com.
