Willis, Walter "Earl" - passed away peacefully on Friday, June 7, 2019 at the Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay in his 76th year. Loving partner of Barbara Gibbins for 41 years. Earl will always be loved and remembered by his sons Warren (Janet), Darren and step-children Twila (Ezio), Dorla (Luke), John (Debbie), and grandchildren Abigail, Amedeo, Domenic, Camryn, and Riley. Remembered always by his sister Mary Dunford, niece Carolyn Jobe, cousins David, Gary, and Daniel "Danny" Moore. Predeceased by his mother Pearl (née Dean) Willis (1990), and father Walter Willis (1947) and loving aunt and uncle Ruby and Stan Moore. Earl was a long-time employee with Trillium-Lakelands District School Board as a school custodian before retiring in 2007. Earl was also a long-standing member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #67. Earl enjoyed the camaraderie of the fellow members and willingly volunteered to barbecue and deliver poppies to the schools. Earl enjoyed playing hockey with the Old Timers Leagues as goalie, and he was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan. Visitation will take place at the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay on Tuesday, June 11 from 2:00p.m. until time of service in the chapel at 3:00p.m. Reception at the Royal Canadian Legion, 12 York Street, Lindsay to follow. If desired, memorial donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #67 Poppy Fund or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
