Always remembered by his ‘lady-friend’ Twyla Jacklin of Listowel, and her family. Ken was born in 1934 in St. Clements to August and Clarissa Elg. As a young man, he went to live and work with Bob and Gladys Hamilton who were an important part of shaping him into the caring, hard-working, and giving man he was. Ken was a self-taught mechanic, known for his ability to fix almost anything. He bought his farm in 1959, he and Betty were married in 1960, and Ken farmed and worked in his mechanic’s shop until they sold the farm in 1990. Never one to slow down, Ken started to work for John Deere in 1989, and he continued to enjoy his work and the many friends he made until he retired again at 81 years old. Ken and Twyla met at a dance and were both blessed by their time together. Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel, on Tuesday, October 24th at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior.
