Proprietor of Finucan's General Store, North Augusta for 50 years.

Passed away peacefully at his home in North Augusta surrounded by his family on Tuesday, September 15th, 2015 in his 90th year. Beloved husband of the former Betty Mayhew. Dearly loved father of Catherine McMullen (Daryl Ritchie), Evelene Workman (Harold), Irene Vandervelde (John), Marg Davis (Stephen), Mike Finucan (Sandra), Ed Finucan (Karen), Joe Finucan (Brenda), and Bob Finucan (Paula). Cherished grandfather of 22 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Also survived by his brothers John Finucan and Ed Finucan (Laura), his sister Claire Ballantyne, and his brother-in-law David Panabaker as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. The son of the late Vincent and Sarah (Byrne) Finucan, Jim was predeceased by his grandson Thomas, his two sisters, Theresa Finucan and Gertrude Daynard and her husband Ken, his son-in-law Garry McMullen, sisters-in-law Beatrice Finucan, Lorraine Panabaker and Phyllis Chagala (Tim) and by his brother-in-law Richard Ballantyne.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Irvine Memorial Chapel at Roselawn, 2451 County Road 15, Maitland on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. The Liturgy of the Christian Funeral will be celebrated at St. Theresa's Church, North Augusta, on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at St. Theresa's Cemetery, Throoptown. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Brockville and District Palliative Care or to St. Theresa's Cemetery will be gratefully acknowledged.
