Helena Grace Broddy

Surrounded by her family, Helen passed away peacefully at the Fosterbrooke Nursing Home on Saturday, October 24, 2015 in Newcastle, ON. in her 87th year. Survived by her children Jeff Denton of Toronto and Jill Lyttle of Newcastle. Predeceased by her husband Robert Broddy and her son Jann Denton. Lovingly remembered by her brother Patrick and her nieces, nephews and her grandchildren Christopher, and Michelle. Helen was a long time member of Sweet Adelines and thoroughly enjoyed her work and friends at the Madoc Thrift Shop. Helen was passionate about the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society and The Habitat for Humanity. Special thanks to the care giving staff at Fosterbrooke and Dr. Brenna Ammons for all their support. Helen will be lovingly remembered by all her family and friends especially Lori, Sylvia, Betty, and Carol. A memorial service will be held at 12:30 with half hour of visitation prior on Saturday October 31st at the NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME at 386 Mill St. South, Newcastle, ON. Donations to the Durham Region Cancer Centre in Helen’s name would be graciously appreciated.
