Ivan Ellis

Ivan Ellis, of Bowmanville, Ontario, died peacefully in his sleep on March 13, 2015 in his 88th year after a brave and extended battle with cancer Ivan, born in England, served in the merchant navy during World War II before marrying the love of his life, Pauline Jean Bennett in 1946. They emigrated in 1953 to build a wonderful life in Canada for their six children, Jean, Christine, Janet, Pauline, John and Robert. He will be sorely missed by the family he has left behind, including his loving wife of 69 years, Pauline, who cared for him at home until the final days of his illness. His loving children will cherish memories of a wonderful life in Canada that dad made possible. Granddad will also be sorely missed by his adoring grandchildren, Michelle, Samantha, Adam, Daniel, Andrew and Rebecca, as well as his great-grandchildren, Charity, Aiden, Nathaniel and Benjamin. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army, an organization that Ivan has long supported. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Lakeridge Health, Bowmanville, for their tender care and support in his Ivan’s final days.
