Lilliane May Jacques Newcastle, Ontario Obituary

Lilliane May Jacques

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Lillian on November 21st, 2017 at the age of 89 in the home she shared with her daughter Debbie and Debbie’s husband Bill Lennox in Millbrook, Ontario. Lillian was predeceased by her husband Leo Richard Jacques (March, 07, 2009). Lillian’s greatest joy was her pride in her children Kenneth (Barb), Debbie (Bill Lennox), Loretta (Len Numminen), Michael (Christina), Billy, Melanie, Michelle (Kevin) and the late Jennifer Cowper. Lillian also cherished her 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Lillian was very active in her community, enjoying crafting, putting up preserves and baking, which she entered in local fairs; taking home many first place ribbons. In her lifetime Lillian became the matriarchal figure for both the Jacques and McGrath families, always there to help get over the bumps and quick to turn those frowns upside down. Time spent with Lillian was a treasured commodity in our family, for all ages, and she very rarely spent time alone. Lillian will be sorely missed, especially over the holidays. Lillian’s visitation will be held at NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 386 Mill St. S. 905-987-3964 (just north of 401 at the lights) on Saturday December 2nd, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. A Memorial Service will take place in the chapel at 12:00 noon, followed by a reception in the funeral home. Her family would appreciate donations in Lillian’s memory to the Ontario Federation for Cerebral Palsy.
