On Monday July 1, 2019, CANADA DAY, Vera Margaret Ely of Don Mills, Toronto, Ontario passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at the Extendicare Rouge Valley Residence located in Toronto.<br><br>Emigrated from her home country of England with her late husband Francis Anthony Melville Ely in the late 1950's. Worked as a Court Stenographer in England and spent her career in Canada as a homemaker and employee of Workplace Safety & Insurance Board. Vera loved spending time with her family most, gardening, drinking tea, baking, collecting English china and antiques, perusing flea markets and being an Anglican Church Lady.<br><br>She is survived by her two loving daughters Fleur and Fenella of Whitby, Ontario and son-in-law Jamie, four grandchildren Jennifer, Scott, Trevor and Charlotte and her sister and family Maureen, Royston and Graham of Arlingham, Gloucestershire, England.<br><br>Vera will always be remembered as a sweet lady who consistently gave and helped others. She was a kind hearted polite soul who continued to smile, give hugs and wave goodbye even in her hardest days.<br><br>We are proud of you and your fight Mum! We will miss you forever. Rest in well deserved peace until we meet again.<br><br>A private service will be held with family.<br><br>Donations may be made in her memory to Alzheimers (Demetia) Society.
