William Whitaker Newcastle, Ontario Obituary

William Whitaker

We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of Will Whitaker, who passed on January 23, 2020 at the Lakeridge Health Hospital in his 63rd year. Devoted husband to Sandi (nee: Curzon) for 40 wonderful years. Loving dad to Dave and Rob (Shawna). Proud and loving grand-father to Edison. Will already loved his second grandchild who he was excitedly awaiting the arrival of in July. He is survived by his father Bill and sister Pauline. Will was known to be a very down-to-earth person. He was hard working and dedicated to his family and all of his jobs. His loyalty to his wife and family was immensely strong. He loved his playful and goofy grandson Edison and the two of them could often be found playing together or getting up to mischief. Will had many talents and took pride in his ability to work hands on, whether it be through his carpentry or the mechanical workings of any machine. Will loved to spend his times outdoors camping or spending an afternoon fishing. He and his wife Sandi loved to travel and spend their time near the ocean. Will was deeply loved by all of his friends and family and will be dearly missed. A celebration of life will be held in memory of Will ‪on Sunday, January 26, 2020‬ at the Newcastle Funeral Home, 386 Mill Street South, Newcastle Ontario, L1B 1C6 ‪from 1:00 - 3:00pm‬. In memory of Will please feel free to attend in casual attire. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
