Tracy Stewart Obituary

STEWART, Tracy Tuck. -- It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden death of our beloved Tracy, loving wife of Rod, and dear mother of Corbin, Elyse and Shelby, on April 29th, 2009. With unfathomable courage and love for her family and friends, Tracy fought a long and brave battle with mental illness which ultimately stole her from us too early. She will be sadly missed by her family, and by the many people whose life she brought much love and joy to. Born on March 9th, 1959 in Calgary Alberta, Tracy served seven years in the Canadian Forces from 1978 to 1985, and met her husband Capt. Roderick Stewart, DDS while stationed at Chilliwack, BC. She graduated with a diploma in dental hygiene from Fanshawe College, London Ontario in 1987, after which she moved to Newmarket, Ontario where she and Rod established Mount Joy General Dentistry (Markham), raised their family and served the community for the past 20 years. In addition to her husband and children, Tracy is survived by her mother and father, Sherry and Tom Bingham of Vancouver, her brothers Boyd and Ward Bingham of Vancouver, her mother in-law and father in-law Joyce and Alan Stewart-Soden of Burlington Ontario, her brothers in-law and sisters in-law: Sharon Grover and Ken Dowling of Hamilton Ontario, Roy and Nancy Stewart of Huntington Beach CA, Don and Salome Stewart of Pittsford NY, Kim Lemeseurier of Oshawa Ontario, Scott Stewart of Grand Cayman Island, Maureen Stewart of Newmarket Ontario, and her 11 nieces, nephews across Canada and the US. Friends are invited to join the family for a funeral mass, celebrated by Father Liborio, and words of personal remembrance on Friday, May 8, 2009 at 4:00 pm, ST ELIZABETH SETON CHURCH, 17955 Leslie Street, Newmarket, Ontario L3Y 9A4. A reception will follow at the St Elizabeth Seton Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: the TRACY STEWART FOUNDATION, care of The Canadian Mental Health Association, Simcoe Branch, for the provision of psychotherapy to support individuals with mood disorders.
