It is with great sadness that the family of Sylvia Redfern Thompson (nee Wood) announces her passing at the Margaret Behan Hospice, Newmarket Ontario on October 18th, 2018, in her 84th year. Much loved wife to Jack with whom she shared more than 62 wonderful years; cherished mother to Steve (Laura); loving grandmother to Emily (Keith), Meredith (Marco) and Evan (Dilara); great-grandmother to Marty, Cliff and Ruby; dear sister to Doug (Marsha) Wood. Sylvia was predeceased by her son Greg (2004), brother John Wood (1983) and sister Marg Smitherman (2015). A visitation for family and friends will be held at Roadhouse and Rose Funeral Home 157 Main St. South, Newmarket Thursday October 25th, 7-9pm; Friday October 26th 10-11am, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11am Friday October 26th. Memorial donations may be made to the Margaret Behan Hospice.
