Robinson, Allen W. – July 29, 1925 – July 5, 2015 It is with great sadness we tell you of the passing at home of Allen W. Robinson in his 90th year. A World War 2 Veteran and a 60 year member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43. Most will remember him as an Oshawa Transit Driver known as “Robbie”. He drove city bus from 1949 – 1988 (39.9 years). He was predeceased by his wife Reta (1997), son Daniel (1991) and grandson Evan (2005). Loving father of Roberta, Wayne (Joan), Nancy (Don Adams), and Jeff (Dawn). Grandfather of Dale, Bill, and Rob Stewart, Jill, Amanda, Stephenie, Allen, Andrew and Shauna. Great grandfather of 18. Also gone before him were his parents Daniel & Nancy (Kish) Robinson and siblings Jane Roland, Pearl Ferris, Nettie Lewis, Grace Truelove, William, Gladys Fairbanks, Arthur, Stella Hickey, Laura Brebanov, Osborne and Burton. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Wednesday July 8th from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday July 9th at 1 pm. Interment Bowmanville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Parkinson Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
