Amelia Wilson Obituary

WILSON, Amelia - Passed away on December 25, 2013, surrounded by family, at Lakeridge Health, in her 85th year. Beloved wife of the late Paul Wilson (1982). Loving mother of Paul (Edith), Kevin (Elpidia) and Brendan (the late Sheila). Cherished grandmother of Sarah, Luke, Tatiana, Juan, Jeronimo. Predeceased by her grandson David. Dear sister of Biddy, Theresa, Ita, Claire, and predeceased by her sisters Mary, Nora and her brother Dan. Dearly missed by her co-workers and her extended family in Canada and Ireland. Amelia was born in Kilshanny County Clare, Ireland. She was a nurse in both Welland and Hillsdale Manor in Oshawa, until her retirement in 1994, after which she actively divided her time between world travels, activities with the Catholic Women’s League, and living year round at the family cottage on Belmont Lake. Amelia had a quick wit, and keen sense of humour. She touched many lives during her time and was loved by all. Visitation will take place at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME (124 King E, Oshawa) on Sunday December 29, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral mass will be held at St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church (690 King St. E., Oshawa) on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 10 am. Donations in memory of Amelia may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation.
