Barrie Collins

Barrie Bruce Collins passed away in Oshawa, ON Tuesday, April 4, at the age of 72, following a short illness. Born in Carmanville, NL on October 11, 1944, he is pre-deceased by his parents, Capt. Frank and Evelyn Collins, brothers, Clifton and Duke; sisters, Kathleen (Kay) and June. Left to mourn are his wife, Louise, son Dion and grandsons, Andrew and Matthew, sister, Pamela, as well as many family and friends. Cremation has taken place and the funeral service will be held on Monday, April 10, at Armstrong Funeral Home in Oshawa, ON. Visitation to take place at 1pm. 1 hour prior to the service starting. Interment will be a later date in the family plot in Carmanville, NL. Barrie loved his wife, son and family dearly and was an extremely loving husband and father. A retired member of the Canadian Armed Forces, he also worked for many years at the Pickering Nuclear Power facility and retired several years ago. His passions were family, playing the guitar and singing, science, technology and anything about the universe and cosmos. His strength, courage, and kindness were admired by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation www.heartandstroke.ca would be greatly appreciated. In loving memory, rest in peace Barrie.
