Bertha Mae Bretherick Oshawa, Ontario Obituary

Bertha Mae Bretherick

Bretherick, Bertha Mae It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved mother, Nana and aunt. Bertha Mae Bretherick (Bert) nee Boone, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, March 30th 2021 at the age of 83. Bert was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, and made her home in Belleville with her loving husband, Gerald Bretherick (who predeceased her in 2016), before settling in Oshawa in 1981. She leaves behind her three sons, Steven (Christine), Jay (Michelle) and John (Vivienne). Bert adored her grandchildren, Ayana (Nick), Kasey, David, James and Emily, who were very much part of her life. She is fondly remembered by her niece Barb MacLean and her step-granddaughters, Karen, Andrea and Emma. The family would like to thank all who cared for Bert in recent months, allowing her the privilege of remaining in her home as she wished. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family and will be sorely missed by them and her circle of lifelong friends. Donations in lieu of flowers to SickKids Foundation would be appreciated. Due to Covid-19 restrictions there will be no service.
