After a long and courageous 12 year battle with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, Donald Harold Coverly in his 68th year passed away peacefully with family by his side, Friday, November 2, 2012.

Survived by his loving wife and best friend Paula, sister Doreen Hottot (Don), Aunt Marg Jones ,son Matthew(Leilani). Predeceased by his mother Dorothy Coverly and Aunt Gertrude. Fondly remembered by his nieces Loriann (Kevin) and Sarah(Alec).

Sadly missed by his extended family Suzie Davis (Chris), Jane Johnson (Chris), grandchildren Ella and James, mother-in-law Donna Neal.

Don was a dedicated teacher and administrator with the Durham District School Board. He always enjoyed golf and curling with his friends and colleagues. Don was a kind, gentle man who loved life. As per his wishes his body was donated to Sunnybrook Cognitive Research followed by cremation. He will be sadly missed

Many thanks to The Wynfield staff who cared for him daily on the last leg of his journey.

Visitation with the family will be at Armstrong Funeral Home from 1pm -3pm, with Celebration of Life Service to follow in the Chapel at 3pm. Reception following on the Lower Level.

Private interment of cremated remains will be held the following day at Thornton Cemetery.
